Miss Smarty

I have had so many people ask me for help with making the cute, boutique overalls that I decided to offer instructions as an eBook. In this presentation, I will discuss the supplies that you will need, how to prepare the overalls for appliqués, how to make ruffles for the hem of the overalls, and how to appliqué. I will walk you through how to create one of my most popular pair of overalls: “Miss Smarty”. I chose this design for the sample because the appliqué shape is all ready in the fabric. It is a simple design that makes an excellent beginner project. Even if you do not make this exact pair of overalls, the following instructions will teach you the basics for creating a design of your own.

For the sample pair of overalls, I purchased Mary Englebreit fabric and red corduroy. I found the Englebreit fabric at Wal-Mart, and the corduroy at Hancocks.
